Fic: Stop Me If You've Heard This One

This is for the Eleven/Romana ficathon being hosted by my good online buddy Clocketpatch over at the [livejournal.com profile] eleven_romana  comm. If you think the notion of Romana in the Eleven-era Whoniverse sounds good, or even if you don’t, go and check it out. Now!

Characters: Romana (regeneration unspecified), River Song
Rating/Warnings: Oh you know, mention of shippiness with which you may or may not agree :D Otherwise Gen
Word count: 5,260
Summary: Right, so these two women walk into a bar...
Disclaimer: Doctor Who and its various characters and copyrights do not belong to me, but rather to the BBC and/or their respective creators.

Fic: Fearful Symmetry, Pt 6: Thicker than Water

In which some extra characters make a sudden appearance (it will all hopefully make sense in the end), Amy comes down with something, the Doctor and Romana stand around being clever and Rory...well, Rory's having a bad day all round, really...

Fic: Fearful Symmetry, Pt 5: A Time for Reflection

Mainly talking and Eleven/Romana-ness in this part, and not a lot of stuff for Amy and Rory to do, but hopefully normal service will be resumed in the next chapter. Trying to find an explanation here for how Romana could possibly have survived the Time War without showing up until now. References here to the Four-era stories State of Decay and Warriors' Gate. The term "Yssgaroth" comes from the NA novels I think, but was really picked up and run with by Lawrence Miles in his Faction Paradox universe.

Fic: The Descent of Man, Pt. 4b

Split over two posts due to Livejournal restrictions - the epic conclusion!

Title:
The Descent of Man
Part:  4 of 4
Characters: Sherlock, John, Mrs Hudson, DI Lestrade, DS Donovan, Anderson, Mycroft Holmes, "Anthea"
Rating/Warnings: Gen. Some mild swearing. Discussion of gruesome violence. Scientific testing on animals.
Word count: approx. 17,900 (total)
Summary: This one was weird even by Sherlock's standards. And if you've been reading this blog, you'll know that's weird. X-Files weird.
Disclaimer: Sherlock was created for the BBC by Stephen Moffat and Mark Gatiss, based on stories and characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I do not own any of this and am making no profit from it.

Fic: The Descent of Man, Pt. 4a

The conclusion of my first foray into Sherlock fic - and bring on the crackiness! Believe me, the crackiest elements come directly from the original ACD story this is based on, as you will have guessed ages ago if you are familiar with the original stories. If not, check out the ACD story The Creeping Man, and be prepared to marvel at the bizarritude... :D

Fic: The Descent of Man, Pt. 3

(I hadn’t forgotten about this one, honest! I’ve already edited the previous parts because I’ve realised that Trevor Bennett’s phone was unlikely to still be in his pocket if Lestrade really had “pulled his phone records” as formerly claimed…Now, Lestrade somehow “checked his email” instead…)

Part:  3 of 4
Characters: Sherlock, John, Mrs Hudson, DI Lestrade, DS Donovan, Anderson, Mycroft Holmes, "Anthea"
Rating/Warnings: Gen. Some sex references and mild swearing. Discussion of gruesome violence. Scientific testing on animals.
Word count: 12,200 approx. (so far)

Fic: The Descent of Man, Pt 2a

The second part of this. Sherlock and John investigate the death scene and reach some shocking conclusions. Oh, and John rather amateurishly refers to the Doctor as "Doctor Who" at one point, like it's his name. Please forgive him, he's only a "casual viewer"! ;D

Yeah, I know. I have other things I should be writing, but I... Yes, I committed Sherlock fic. Hopefully when this is finished it will be out of my system. The original Holmes story this is based on is one of my favourites, even if it seems to be poorly regarded by a lot of fans. It's like the Holmes equivalent of Creature from the Pit, then. ;D

I write. That's what I might say were you to ask me what I do in my spare time and I happened to be in a particularly pretentious mood. Of course I write; everybody does. Shopping lists, cheques, crosswords, notes on little yellow stickies to remind your other half or other random acquaintances to do things like buying milk. That is to say, I write fiction. Or stories, to be slightly less self-regarding.
