Indeed; one of the reviews I read called it an "everybody lives!" ending, and it was! It was all about fitting in, or not fitting in, and how sometimes good friends can be as good as a family, and I liked that bit that it had Sarah and co acknowledging that their assumption that all aliens are dangerous invaders is a bit wide of the mark.
