No, I do think the essential shallowness of NuWho when it comes to anything but the most facile "issues" is one of the things it has never shaken, no matter who's running things. I agree with Lawrence Miles on that, even if I don't agree with his next point that this therefore makes the programme worthless and not worth watching at all. It is irksome, though, if you consider how full of subtext and allusions the old series was compared to the new.
