Fic: Battlelines
Mar. 29th, 2009 11:01 pmThere seems to be something wrong with the Teaspoon site, or maybe just with my account, or maybe just with me, because I can't seem to submit this there; I keep getting an error message and have been for the past 24 hours or so. Other people's fic has been updated in the meantime, so I really hope it isn't my account that's bust. I've emailed the admin there but no response as yet...
In the meantime, allow me to present the latest part of this fic, which I haven't updated since, well, probably about Xmas; I'm determined to finish this and/or the Four/Romana one before starting on anything else major (real life and the Teaspoon permitting). Essentially, it's an AU sequel to the Seven story Battlefield; essentially, in the aftermath of those events, none other than Sarah Jane Smith blew the story wide open to an astonished world, and now the UN have decided to send a massive aid/peacekeeping mission to the Thirteen Worlds, Morgaine's weird techno-medieval kingdom which has gone to hell in a handbasket since she abdicated her throne after finding out about King Arthur's death. The Special Envoy heading up the mission is, of course, none other than Brigadier Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Steward (ret.). Doris isn't happy. I think I have a good idea of how the story is going to go now, but rather dauntingly also realise that I'm still only about a third of the way through it, maybe not even that depending on how much gory detail and/or armaments pr0n I want to put in the action scenes towards the middle and end of the story. Still, here's the next part, in which nothing much really happens:
