[community profile] who_allsorts is a prompt table community open to all types of fanworks and all corners of the Doctor Who Universe. It's an old school style prompt claiming community, with bite-sized tables (varying from 3-20 prompts) and a more flexible approach to what can be claimed (characters, pairings, eras, themes, spin-offs etc.). Come on over, claim up to two tables at one time, and create new fanworks for Doctor Who - and everyone profits!

Further information can be found at the comm. Click on the banner for link. "

Well, go on, then!

Once again I might just have managed to make my posting deadline in *some* time zones. I’ve actually been trying to write this fic, or something like it, for a few years now, so I’m glad the ‘thon gave me the opportunity finally to get it off my chest. Warning for salty language and 1960s period racism, misogyny, homophobia etc. No historical characters were harmed in the making of this fic. Doctor Who and its various characters and copyrights most definitely do not belong to me.

I have many a fond memory of the old fic_rush comm on Livejournal, so it's good to see it being revived here on Dreamwidth. The first round of the new era is this weekend, 17th-18th of March, so why not give it a whirl?

Penguins, glowsticks and usurpation usually end up featuring in the proceedings, if I remember correctly.

Seriously, Livejournal's foremost Doctor Who fanfiction reccing community needs fresh reccers - if you haven't already, please read the below post by the comm's admin [personal profile] nonelvis and give it your serious consideration:

Originally posted by [personal profile] nonelvis at WE ARE ESSENTIALLY OUT OF RECCERS. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
I hate to capslock at you, but seriously: we're out. [personal profile] clocketpatch will be reccing for the next couple of weeks, and [personal profile] ffutures has graciously volunteered for another stint in September, but other than that, my reccing calendar is empty.

Please, please, please: if you've ever thought about reccing but have never stepped forward, now's the time. If you've recced before and want to try again, now's the time. If you're not sure if you want to rec, contact me, and I'll talk you into it answer any questions you have about it. And if you have friends who might want to rec, please share this post with them.

Reccing periods last two weeks; complete rules and sign-up instructions in this post. Thanks, everyone, for any help you can offer here.

Tumblr, Facebook, Google+, and other users reading this: you don't need a LiveJournal account to rec! If you're interested in reccing, you can comment in the sign-up post, leave me an Ask, or email me at nonelvis42 on Gmail. (Note: if you're a Facebook user who wants to volunteer, please contact me by email; I have no Facebook account, and LJ doesn't send OpenID users comment notifications, so I have no reliable way of reaching you beyond email.)

Title: The Dome on the Moon, Episode 3
Rating: Teen (Gen)
Word count: c. 6,500
Warnings: Some violence
Year: 1968
Summary: Recently rediscovered in a forgotten TV archive in the former People’s Democratic Republic of Ruritania, the only remaining full episode of a missing classic from 1968!
Characters: The Second Doctor, Jamie, Zoe, the Cybermen
Disclaimer: Doctor Who and its many associated characters and copyrights, of course, do not belong to me!

Written for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Ficathon, horribly over-deadline but finished at long last. Also my (equally overdue) entry for the Two leg of the [community profile] who_at_50 50th anniversary fanwork-a-thon-a-thon. The prompt year was 1968. I actually started writing this before the rediscovery of Enemy of the World and Web of Fear was announced, so at the time the idea of writing a single episode of an otherwise lost story seemed like a cute sort of conceit; now, I wonder whether the other episodes are out there somewhere...

The next part of my entry in the [community profile] who_at_50 fanwork-a-thon-a-thon, fulfilling this month's secondary theme "Multi-Doctors":

Part Two: Eleven
In which our adventurers in space and time begin their Unearthly quest.
Author: [personal profile] jjpor
Rating: Teen
Word Count: approx. 8496 (so far)
Characters/Pairings: All eleven Doctors (at least); Barbara Wright, Ian Chesterton, Susan, other companions, enemies etc. to be revealed.
Notes/Warnings: Doctor Who and all of its associated characters, concepts and copyrights very much do not belong to me!

Previous Parts

Well, it had to be done. Consider this my entry in the [community profile] who_at_50 fanwork-a-thon-a-thon, fulfilling this month's secondary theme "Multi-Doctors". I think it's going to be in thirteen chapters, but don't quote me on that as it's still a work in progress. It's also almost certain to be mercilessly Jossed by The Day of the Doctor, so hopefully people will still want to read the ending if it hasn't been posted by then...

Title: The Eleven Doctors
Summary: Eleven Doctors. One Game. A Multitude of dangers.
Part One: Commencing Countdown
In which once again we play the Game of Rassilon…
Author: [personal profile] jjpor
Rating: Teen
Word Count: approx. 1900 (so far)
Characters/Pairings: All eleven Doctors (at least); companions, enemies etc. to be revealed.
Notes/Warnings: Doctor Who and all of its associated characters, concepts and copyrights very much do not belong to me!
