Well, until it actually happens on screen, I'm going to reserve judgement. You know, it'll turn out she was Fenric all along or something! Or something. I'm with you, though, on the idea of writers doing something irreversible to the Doctor or the setting. I mean, I'll let them have big, plotty things like the Time War, cause it advances the Whoniverse rather than denying the old continuity, but you know, something like giving the Doctor a definite, significant other and going out of your way to make it clear they're the one and only, ever, and for all time, I'd consider that poisoning the well for whichever showrunner hopefully came after you. I don't think - I hope anyway - that Moffat isn't that stupid. But then again, he hadn't really pissed ever me off in a big way before I saw that Comic Relief sketch. I know, it was only a sketch, but the humour and the characterisations seemed badly misconceived to me. So, you know, that "he's not RTD at least!" insulation he had in my mind has worn off a little bit over the past week or so... ;D
