Fic: Protect and Survive, Part VII: Better Dead than Red

A midweek update; don't say I never do anything for you. XD The plot thickens; Ace does something terrible for the best of reasons, and so does the Doctor. Warning; some more violence this part (and some more names of historical figures taken in vain). I worry I may be getting into the sort of grim 'n' gritty territory I sometimes disapprove of in the NAs; oh well...

No Dr Strangelove references in the story itself this time, I was shocked to discover myself; if this part reminds me of any movie at all, it's the Mickey Rourke/Robert de Niro film Angel Heart, and that might be a giveaway if you've seen that.

Oh, and I actually like Hudson Hawk, God help me; which is why none of you should ever, ever trust my word on how good/bad films, television programs etc actually are...

Nothing wrong with grim 'n gritty if it's done properly and this is DONE properly. I kept forgetting to breath... Dark Seven at its finest.

Thank you very much indeed; I've replied to your very nice review on the Teaspoon as well. Hope to have the next bit up sooner rather than later (with more oldschool Who flashbacks/guest appearances, actually); hope I can wrap this up in a way that makes sense and doesn't seem like a cop-out.

Now, try to remember to breathe, because otherwise you'll turn blue and...well, just remember, okay? :D
