Trying and failing to write anything this evening, so I thought I'd do this meme I got from
gypsylady instead:
Go to Wikipedia and hit random. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
Go to flickr and click on explore the last seven days. Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
Use photoshop or similar to put it all together. Post it with this text in the caption.
It only took me about five minutes to make the first one in GIMP, so I did it twice! :D
First attempt:

The quote here is from Frank Lloyd Wright - "TV is chewing gum for the eyes". Went surprisingly well with the picture, I thought. Still, despite the coolness of the above image (imho anyway), I can't help but feel that with a name like "Vaseline" the band in question was probably some tragically hip, less-clever-than-they-think mid-90s Britpop band who had one semi-hit single that people my age remember whenever they hear it on Xmas nights out, and whose Jarvis-Cocker-wannabe frontman is now to be found on some humiliating "celebrity"-related reality telly programme near you. Or something.
Attempt the second:

Apparently, Fernandina's Flicker is a species of woodpecker, which is kind of excellent if you ask me. And the quote in question is from none other than Mel Brooks - "Good taste is the enemy of comedy"... I don't have the same sort of instant vibe about this band as I did about the first one, except that they seem quite avant garde and serious to me. But that could just be because of their arty b&w album cover... ;D
So, twenty minutes wasted, anyway - I should probably look into that writing again now.
