Well, I feel a sense of a job well done; all of my Doctor Who DVDs and VHS tapes are now sorted in order of lead actor, and original airdate. My, I seem to have a lot of Four compared to just about all of the others (apart from Seven, naturally).

Yes, I know what you're thinking; how could he be so remiss as to not have them already so sorted? Well, it kind of shocks me too. ;-D

Now, to do the same with all of the Target novelisations...

Yes; luckily, they have the dates they originally aired on the back of the DVD covers, otherwise I would have had to look them all up. Just to be sure! :D

 That was exactly what I was thinking! (But then I suspect your books also may not be shelved in alphabetical order with the NF in a vague Dewey order?)

See, I knew you would say that! (That wasn't me perpetuating librarian stereotypes or anything was it?) I tend to group my books by category and then by author, but not alphabetically. And some of the categories are, to be honest, a bit subjective.

I group mine by author, and I got really sulky once when my grandmother regrouped them by size because it looked ''nicer''.

Heheh - yeah, sounds like the kind of thing my mum used to do back in the day (I've always had too many books, it seems); she called it "tidying"...

No, that's just part of the job description. You would know if you had. *turns evil*

I don't really think everyone should keep their books in alphabetical order, as long as they know how to find them. I just couldn't cope if mine weren't.

Heheh - yes. I tend to operate on the Smaug the Magnificent principle, in that I'll suddenly notice something on the other side of the room in what I consider to be the wrong place, and then wonder who moved it (it's always me, of course, but that doesn't stop me from wondering). Yeah, I am a bit strange, really. :D

Nothing like a bookcase/shelf in nice, orderly Who-shape. My own collection overflowed its bookcase so now its only 'kinda' in order - hm, need to do something about that. ;-)

My books are in the 'vaguely Dewey' order mentioned above, but only tje Doctor garners his own bookcase and orderly sorting of all the shows we own. Of course, only the Doctor HAS enough shows to stuff a case...

Job well done.

Thank you very much; it was, as I say, long overdue.

Damn! I'm having trouble just keeping ours in chronological order, and that's with the story number on the damn box!

The airdate thing is possibly a little obsessive, but you know, in for a penny, in for a pound... ;D
