I picked this up from [livejournal.com profile] innerbrat  via [livejournal.com profile] lizbee 's journal, and I think it's kind of cool:

1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some TV show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them.
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal.

Well, I never said he was _good_ at the heroics, did I? ;-D

Yes, that's my plan involving this meme anyway, LOL!

Er, okay, if you want another prompt, how's abouts... Our protagonist wakes up in a swanky hotel room with no recollection of who s/he is or how s/he got there. Oh, and there's a dead body they don't recognise in the en suite bathroom as well...

Okay!

One-off drama (or possibly very, very strange ongoing series.)

I just thought you can add 'together, they fight crime!' to almost anything, can't you? If you add it to your second prompt, it becomes a whole new ball game.

(I am strange, I know.)

Well, I never said it was an _inanimate_ dead body, did I?! ;D Run with it! Run with it! It'd be the ultimate in quirky buddy-buddy cop shows! ;D

SHE's an amnesiac! HE's deceased! Together they fight CRIME!

LOL - no, really, I am actually LOLing like a maniac right now, lord knows what the neighbours think!

Heh. You can do it to anything, look:

One was an apple, the other an orange... Together they FIGHT CRIME! (And rotten bananas.)

He's a shabby, faded armchair; she's an elegant coffee table with a penchant for glossy magazines... Together they fight crime!

Some of them are less exciting than others, though, admittedly.

(Oh, and when I said I was grinning over your Nat-heroics description, I meant in a good way, because it was only because of something you said ages ago that made me think about that at all - & it really helped when I got stuck right at the end of the AU, so I was amused you mentioned it again.)

You know, this may actually BE how they devise new TV detective shows... It would explain a lot.

Heheh - well, glad to have been of assistance! He is a hero, on the quiet, even if he's got a bit of a slow-burning fuse; effectiveness or otherwise have nothing to do with heroic status, I'd argue. And I'd also argue that Nat is probably someone you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of, because if you'd done something bad enough to get him, of all people, after you, then it must have been really bad and you will thorougly deserve the comeuppance coming your way soon...

SHE's Queen Victoria! HE's Karl Marx! Together...

Yes, you can do it for anything... :D

Heh, now I want to see that one!

(And John's randomiser gave me among other silly things an out of work former first lady from beyond the grave...).

Heh. To be honest, if you got on the wrong side of Nat, he'd probably just get frustrated and kick things after you were gone. (Tilly, now... ;-D) But, yes, it helped. One of those 'I have everything written but the actual link to the ending' (Why does that seem to happen so often? Or possibly it's just my lack of planning details.)

Eleanor Roosevelt?! Talk about high concept...

I have that problem all the time - I generally think of the beginning and the end of a story first and then it's a question of getting from point A to point B...I often end up getting lost somewhere in the middle too... ;D

Oh, now Tilly...I wouldn't like to get in her bad books... ;D

I'll read the rest of that story at some point, I was enjoying it greatly, but you know I keep adopting daft memes and signing up for ficathons and trying to write things for Big Finish...

 It didn't say which first lady - only that she was dead!

Not just me, then! :-D

Don't worry - it's slow going writing it anyway. I think there's still only 2 more parts (or is it 1?) since the last bit you read. The next bit is ready barring the last paragraph, so I was thinking of putting that up tonight, but no hurry. (Although you do now have to read the middle-end linking section so you can see what I'm on about! ;-D)

Eleanor Roosevelt and Mary Todd Lincoln continue their age-old battle for mastery of time and space from beyond the grave...only one person can stop them and save the universe! Er...

An-y-way...

Well, I look forward to it. I'm hoping to put retro-TW to bed this week, and then concentrate on useful things like Big Finish and The Black Bore (and that ficathon thing...keep forgetting about that one...), but I will endeavour to catch up with it when I can.

No, you can't have that as a prompt. I hear you have enough already.

Nice. I shall be away shortly - sounds like I'll have something to read when I get back, then? ;-D

I know the Big Finish and the ficathon are going to co-incide quite a bit, aren't they?

I'll just make a note of the undead first lady thing for later... :D

Well, you know what I'm like when I make big claims about all the writing I'm going to do... I'll try to have _something_ for you when you return...

Well, I've got more than a month to do both of them, if I just put other things aside I shouldn't have too much trouble. I know what the ficathon thing is going to be, it's just a question of actually writing it. I'm having more trouble deciding on an idea for the Big Finish thing at the moment...

TV Tropes seems to agree.

(The second link on that page is to a Random They-Fight-Crime generator. The possibilities are endless. <rory-bremner>And indeed pointless.</rory-bremner>)

Heh - that's a hoot! One or two of them are actually good prompts, too...

And TV Tropes, now _there_ is a way of wasting hours of your life that you are never going to get back ever...

Aren't they?
"He's a suicidal umbrella-wielding werewolf with acid for blood. She's a beautiful snooty cab driver with the power to see death. They fight crime!"

Sylvester McCoy and Lalla Ward?
