Fic: "Torchwood 1913: Jack be Nimble" and "Old Boys"

It's a retro-Torchwood bonanza! The last part of the story set in 1913 and something set in 1942 as a sort of very-far-removed epilogue:

The end - and not before time! Well, this story has been going on for quite some time now (about eight months, I think!), and wouldn't have been finished without the encouragement of those of you who've been following it, so thanks! Just a bit of fluffy epilogue to go - any similarities between the last section and the Jack/Gwen gun-fondling scene early in S1 of Torchwood are purely coincidental (honest!)

Fic: Old Boys

I wrote this a while ago, but some of the things that came up when I was writing my other retro-TW fics "Jack be Nimble" and "Never Lies" made me think about it again and rewrite large parts of it, so here it is. Some of the mentioned characters and biographical details come from the TW S2 ep "To The Last Man" or more specifically the not-really-canonical TW website info accompanying it. Don't really know how much sense this will make unless you've read my other retro-TW fic. As ever, Torchwood and the various copyrights relating to it definitely, definitely do not belong to me!

Oh no, not at all - I'm really sorry if it seems like I've been ignoring what's going on over there, it's just that I've been a bit busy this past week or so, with one thing and another, and I haven't been able to keep up with my lj properly. Hopefully, I'll have a bit of time over the next couple of days to get caught up with the newer stuff - I'm hoping there'll be some new Mammoth Season posts for me to read! ;D

I really, really need to post some more stuff over there myself - I seem to have a whole list of unfinished prompts...

I just posted another new show... and I'm working on yet another. I just have so many ideas bumping around in my head and it's so great to be able to get them out somehow. Sometimes I feel like that guy in Sandman who is cursed to have a neverending stream of inspiration.

I'm glad that your inspiration is still flowing, though; it is, as I keep saying, a great meme and one I wish I was devoting more time to, but unfortunately I have this habit of involving myself in too many things at once...

So, that's it then? That was some good fic and a hell of a ride. I keep pestering my room mate to give it a read, and she keeps staring at me blankly. Oh well, one battle at a time. Anyway, Gerald and Harriet seem to have got under my skin because I was doodling them in class today. I couldn't get Gerald to work (and then I made a laughable attempt at Jack's Inverness cape that I'm trying to pretend never happened), but the one of Harriet didn't turn out half bad even if the scene technically never happened.

Anyway, I present the results to you as a thank you for the wonderful fic:

Hee - that's brilliant! Almost exactly how I imagined the creature when I was writing it, actually - especially the "wings". Thank you very much for doing that! ;D
