30 Days of Who meme: Day 20: The Character Who Is Most Like You

So, I just thought I'd continue this one, despite it being about six months since Day 19. If I pick up my pace slightly, I might get it done by the time of the 50th anniversary.

Day Twenty: The Character Who Is Most Like You

Linx from the Time Warrior, of course! Well, no probably not really,  whatever wild claims I may have made in the past. And not the Master, either. Fortunately. ;D While being a droll supervillain may have its appeal, it has its cons too and I don't think anyone would really want to be like the Master, or indeed that there are many like him about and at liberty. This may require some thought...

Hmm, this is a hard one, really, self-analysis not being my strong suit. This is one opinion:

And the more I think about it... Well, any actual similarity of personality or circumstances to good old Mickey might be debatable, but I can certainly see how I'd likely react the way Mickey does were I ever to be faced with Who-like circumstances. You know, apart from the bit about finally finding his courage and becoming a fighter for freedom; I doubt I'd get past the complaining/fleeing stage he was at in S1.
 
Or a Rory. I could see myself being a bit of a Rory under certain circumstances, but without the heroic streak or this certain allure I'm told he holds for some people... I'm not hero material, tbh. Seems like a lot of effort. ;)

Worryingly, I suspect my fourteen or fifteen year old self was a bit of an Adric - a clever-clogs who knew it and never let up on an opportunity to demonstrate it. I got better, honest, as I became a bit older and wiser. Mostly better, anyway ;D

I suppose I'd aspire to be like Ian, if I could find the greatness inside myself or something. You know, solid sort of chap, a thinker but good in a crisis, learns quickly but can have a bit of fun while he's doing it. Or if I couldn't be Ian, there's nothing wrong with being a Harry Sullivan. Although I like to think I've never called anyone "old girl" or anything cringily chauvinistic like that.

I've always had a strong admiration for Sgt Benton. Not for anything he's ever done, really, but just because of his reliability and solidity and the sense he was the man holding UNIT together, but it's always best to be the one giving the orders rather than being responsible for making them happen.

Wait, this isn't "which Who character you would like to be"...! 

*wracks brain some more, fruitlessly*

I think I'm most like Martha - though I'd never have put up with the Doctor's crap as long as she did - so I wouldn't have been around to walk the world for him!

But I'm sensible, practical, capable of not panicking and good at putting others first.

Yeah, all good qualities to have, and ones that Martha had in abundance. Not a bad character to be like at all.

But you're right about not putting up with Ten's crap - possibly her one weakness, and yes, if he'd actually managed to drive her away with his ridiculousness, where would he have been then? In a birdcage forever, that's where!

Possible related? --- My S.O. thinks I look like a Sontaran because I am short and kind of thick looking (as in a really short but deep torso). I always true to point out that Lynx wasn't too short, nor was that Sontaran commander in The Two Doctors, but he tells me that Sontarans look like me so they are short. I refuse to understand this line of thinking.

Yes, well that's the thing about Sontarans, for clones they don't half change appearance all the time! Linx was sort of average-sized really, while the ones in Two Doctors were positively large. I think the NuWho Sontarans are probably too short, really, as a group, for the purposes of humour I guess. Although there's not actually anything funny about height, whatever RTD might think (although he looks like a big fella, so maybe that's why!). Some fine logical skills from your other half there, though (??) ;D

I saw somebody else doing it again, and thought "right!" ;D

I was going to make a wink-wink nudge-nudge joke about the ''good with your hands thing'' but I don't think I will.:D So, you pout when things don't go your way? :D

I got Romana, which, while flatter, is probably wildly inaccurate (''the most brilliant person you know''). I'd probably be a S1 Mickey under most Whovian circumstances, too.

I'm useless at anything like car maintenance or whatever, so there's another dissimilarity between me and the Mickster right there. ;D
